Joel Gott buys Cindy’s Backstreet Kitchen off Railroad Avenue as well as Napa Valley Petroleum’s retail section on the corner of Main and Spring Streets in Saint Helena, Napa Valley.
Rumors are flying around town that Joel Gott bought iconic Cindy’s Backstreet Kitchen slated to close July 7th. He purchased the building in an ultra hush-hush deal and plans to make it into a taco-tequila restaurant concept.
The closing of Cindy’s Backstreet Kitchen after 16 years of business stunned both patrons and employees alike.

Edit- July 6th, 2017. Joel Gott has also purchased the Napa Valley Petroleum retail section and plans to call it “The Station.” He is thinking of a high-end convenience store encompassing what he thinks Saint Helena will benefit from including expanding his Gott’s Roadside dessert offerings.
As per an article from ‘San Francisco Eater’ they state that the Cindy’s Backstreet Kitchen sale was a done deal and announced in June, but I found that current employees only had days before the expected closer on July 7th.
We are sad that Cindy’s Backstreet Kitchen is closing after 16 years and we will miss our friends and employees that we spent many years with…
